Approved by the California Secretary of State, this six-hour class covers the functions and duties of a notary public, as well as providing the knowledge necessary to pass the state examination. California State Proctors administer the notary exam at the end of the class. Participants must bring a check for $40 made payable to the California Secretary of State, a valid driver's license, and a passport photo to be attached to the application (Note: Passport photo can be taken in class for a $10 fee).
