*Students do not have to participate in Course 1 in order to enroll in Course 2. STEM challenges will change with each new course!
Can you create a ramp that makes your car fly with speed? How far can you make your car travel without touching it? In this course, engineers will design ramps, track, jumps and crashes to test out engineering designs and prove the science of force and motion. For each class we will learn a force and motion physics concept such as: energy, friction, aerodynamics, momentum and mass. The first part of the class will be the lesson presented in a developmentally appropriate way with slides and demonstrations. Then students will break up into small groups to investigate and prove the science. This course naturally engages children’s curiosity and teaches them science and math without them even realizing it! We will promote the Growth Mindset and develop critical thinking skills with inquiry-based investigation, exploration and discussion. Each new course will introduce new challenges around the same basic physics concepts.
